Benevis announces certification of EHR system

Benevis, a business support services company for healthcare practices, announced the certification of its Boomerang electronic health records (EHR) system by the Drummond Group's Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) program.

Boomerang, which met the requirements for EHR Modular (Ambulatory) certification, is an electronic dental records system that allows affiliate dentists to maintain and share data for improved clinical outcomes, audit dental records, and ensure clinical compliance in a secure environment.

With the successful completion of testing and certification, the Boomerang EHR software is now compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

"Achieving 2014 Edition EHR certification and compliance has been a rigorous process -- one we felt was important to further strengthen the quality of our EHR system, achieve meaningful use for our affiliate providers, and ultimately improve patient care," stated Tom Nance, CEO of Benevis, in a press release.
