Sunstar Americas has announced a pledge of $250,000 to the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) for research grants beginning in 2017.
The grants will be awarded to AAP members over a three-year period, and applications must address innovative treatments and research on periodontitis, focusing on an interdisciplinary team approach and "novel approaches to achieve patient compliance," according to the company.
The deadline to apply for the first grant is October 16, 2016.
