University of Tenn. gets $2M for dental school

March 7, 2013 -- The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis has received more than $2 million to renovate the school's College of Dentistry and for physiology research.

Delta Dental of Tennessee is donating $1 million to the dental college to finish the $8 million renovation that will be completed later this year, according to a story in the Memphis Business Journal. The money will be used to replace outdated equipment in the Delta Dental of Tennessee Dental Simulation Center on the UTHSC campus. The facility serves as a laboratory where dentistry students gain hands-on experience.
