ACI launches dental assistant program By DrBicuspid Staff
December 28, 2012 -- American Career Institute's (ACI) newest location in Silver Spring, MD, has announced it will offer a dental assistant training program. The program is currently offered at several other ACI locations in Massachusetts.
The program will emphasize a hands-on approach to training with a curriculum that covers both administrative and clinical disciplines, ACI said. Students will utilize the Silver Spring location's new dental facilities with two dental chairs and an x-ray machine lab.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of dental assistants is projected to increase 31% between 2010 and 2020, faster than the total of all occupations, at 14%, ACI said. The projected growth rate was a major factor in the decision to bring the training program to the new location.
