Discus Dental has appointed Steven Semmelmayer as its new CEO, the company announced.
Semmelmayer began his career at Ormco, an orthodontic company based in Southern California, where he held numerous sales and marketing positions, according to the company. In 1993, he became general manager and then president of Kerr. In 2005, Semmelmayer was named president of the Professional Dental Group of Sybron Dental Specialties. Most recently, he served as president, chairman, and CEO of LED Medical Technologies, a Vancouver-based medical device company dedicated to the early detection of oral cancer.
