Sulzer Mixpac wins trademark infringement case

A federal court has ruled that Seil Global's dental mixing tips infringe Sulzer Mixpac's colored dome trademarks.

In May, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York confirmed that dome-shaped clear body mixing tips made by Seil Global were prohibited by a prior permanent injunction, Sulzer noted in a press release.

The order finds that Seil Global, and its related company Seil Dentech, are in contempt of the injunction by advertising or selling the prohibited mixing tips. The court ordered Seil Global to pay damages to Sulzer and pay a court fine. The order prohibits Seil Global or Seil Dentech from advertising, distributing, selling, or offering for sale the clear body mixing tips in the U.S.

Mixpac mixing tips are two-component static mixing solutions for dental applications. They have a unique trademark dome shape and colors (yellow, teal, blue, pink, purple, and brown) used with a materials cartridge. Mixpac dental products are made exclusively by Sulzer Mixpac at its factory in Switzerland.

Mixpac tips can be identified by the Mixpac name stamped in the top beveled edge of the tip.
