Sheri Suggests -- Tuff Temp provisional resin

In this occasional series, Dr. Sheri Doniger will share her experiences with some of her favorite dental instruments, materials, and equipment. These are products Dr. Doniger personally uses or has tested in her practice.

We always are looking for a great product for temporization. We would like one that is easy to fabricate, holds on to the tooth without distortion, and wears well during the temporization process. Tuff Temp from Pulpdent is just such a product.

Differing from the other temporary products on the market, it is made from a rubberized urethane chemistry that is strong and tight-fitting. Fabrication is so simple and takes less than three minutes to complete.

An optional cure with the light will give a fast final set on demand. Once the flash is removed, there are minimal adjustments to satisfy the patient's bite. We are able to feather the margins and have the ability to add on if necessary. The material sets without heat and grinds to a powder.

Since using Tuff Temp in my office, we have not had a lost or broken temporary -- which, as you know, saves time and money. Tuff Temp is a great option to consider when looking for a long-lasting, strong, aesthetic provisional veneer, crown, and bridge resin temporary.
