ADA releases updated CDT guide

The ADA is offering the publication CDT 2011-2012: The ADA Practical Guide to Dental Procedure Codes to provide dentists and their staff with a handy resource to accurately record and report dental services delivered to patients, the organization announced.

The spiral bound book includes the latest version of the Code on Dental Procedures and Nomenclature as well as several expanded reference sections, such as questions and answers concerning the selection of the appropriate procedure codes for patient records and for claim submissions. CDT 2011-2012 is designed to help dental staff maintain accurate paper and electronic health records, as well as efficiently prepare insurance claims, and includes new information about caries risk assessment and documentation forms

In addition to CDT 2011-2012, the ADA is offering a revised CDT Companion: The ADA Practical Guide to Dental Coding, which provides additional information on topics such as dental/medical cross coding and how to submit dental claims to a patient's medical insurance carrier. The CDT Companion also includes an expanded set of clinical coding scenarios that cover a wide variety of patient services.

CDT 2011-2012: The ADA Practical Guide to Dental Procedure Codes, which includes a searchable CD-ROM, and the CDT Companion: The ADA Practical Guide to Dental Coding are available as a set to ADA members for $84.95 and nonmembers for $127.45. They can also be purchased separately; CDT 2011-2012 and its CD-ROM are available for $49.95 for ADA members and $74.95 for nonmembers, while the CDT Companion is available for $49.95 for ADA members and $74.95 for nonmembers.
