Equity firm expands stake in dentistry

Huron Capital Partners, a private equity firm, has invested in its second U.S. dental company as part of a "series of planned investments in the dental services industry," the company noted in a press release.

Earlier this year, Huron took a majority interest in Six Month Smiles, a provider of short-term orthodontics products founded in 2006 by Ryan Swain, DDS.

Now Huron has invested in Dynamic Dental Partners, a dental services organization (DSO) that provides operational support to a network of dental practices located in Florida, Arizona, and Virginia. Dynamic anticipates making more acquisitions to continue expanding and partnering with dentists to provide care to as many patients as possible, noted CEO Alex Giannini, DDS.

Huron identified the DSO market as an industry of focus nearly two years ago, according to Huron Partner Nick Barker.
