Maine foundation awards $106K to dental clinics

The Maine Health Access Foundation (MeHAF) has awarded $106,083 to six nonprofit dental clinics. These clinics make up part of Maine's oral health safety net for the poor.

Among the six clinics involved, the grants will fund the Lincoln County Dental Clinic's planning process and an electronic dental record system for the Community Dental clinic in Lewiston, according to the foundation.

Independent clinics, volunteer oral health providers, and federally qualified health centers comprise Maine's oral health safety net. These clinics serve both children and adults.

Since 2002, the foundation has provided more than $2.3 million for the state's oral health safety net.
