Forward Science donates 4th OralID

Forward Science Technologies, the developer of the OralID cancer screening device, has donated a fourth device as part of its OralID Facebook Charity Campaign.

The Facebook Charity Campaign was launched last May as a way to give back to underserved communities and spread public awareness of oral cancer. During the campaign, the company will donate an OralID device to a nonprofit organization for every 500 "Likes" on the OralID Facebook page.

This month the OralID Facebook page reached 2,000 "Likes," becoming the most "Liked" oral cancer device. Keeping with its campaign promise, Forward Science donated an OralID screening device to the Homeless Emergency Project (HEP) in Clearwater, FL, which provides support for men, women, and children at or below the 200% federal poverty level.

"The goal of the HEP Dental Clinic is to increase the standard of care for our residents; this generous donation from Forward Science Technologies allows us to do so," stated Terrance McAbee, president and CEO of HEP, in a press release. "We are excited to be able to not only use OralID at our state of the art facility, but due to its portability, we are excited to be able to take it with us when we visit our patients off site."

"Once we were introduced to what the HEP Dental Clinic did to serve their community, it brought tears to my eyes," stated Macie Case, marketing associate at Forward Science. "We are excited to partner with HEP to offer OralID enhanced screenings to those who typically would not receive such a high standard of care."

Forward Science has already donated devices to North Carolina Missions of Mercy in Cary, NC; the Free Clinic of Simi Valley in Simi Valley, CA; and the St. Christopher's Foundation in Philadelphia.
