Dos and don'ts for community marketing
3/4/2013

Get your name out in the community

Dentists should do everything they can to create greater awareness about their practices. Joining local business organizations, sponsoring sports teams, and participating in health fairs are all excellent ways to enhance the practice's reputation in the community.

Do

Celebrate the practice. Practices should host at least one patient appreciation event a year. This is a great way to thank patients and build a name for your practice in the community. Encourage patients to bring their family and friends.

Don

Don't overlook schools. To build community good will, set up a scholarship at the local high school. You can pay $500 a year to a worthy graduating student. You get to help select the senior, the award is announced on stage, and the name of the award appears in the graduation program guide.
