Henry Schein establishes Ebola relief fund

Henry Schein has established an Ebola relief fund to support relief efforts related to the disease's outbreak in West Africa.

The fund was set up through the Henry Schein Cares Foundation to provide a way for employees and others to contribute to relief efforts, according to a press release.

Henry Schein will match all donations contributed to the fund by employees, and the proceeds will be applied directly and completely to Ebola relief efforts through the CDC Foundation, which helps the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) fight threats to health and safety, as well as other relief organizations.

The money raised will augment donations of personal protective equipment that Henry Schein is making through Henry Schein Cares to the CDC to help healthcare workers in West Africa as they combat the Ebola outbreak, which has claimed more than 3,000 lives.

In the past, Henry Schein Cares has responded to several disasters in the U.S. and around the world.

Anyone wishing to contribute to the Ebola relief fund can make a donation by credit card through the Henry Schein Cares Foundation website. Those who wish to contribute by check should make the check payable to "Henry Schein Cares Foundation" with "Ebola Relief Fund" noted in the memo of the check, and send it to Ashley Lenz at Henry Schein Inc., 135 Duryea Road, Melville, NY, 11747. Donations to the Henry Schein Cares Foundation are tax deductible.
