Zest Anchors settles patent infringement suit

Zest Anchors has settled a patent infringement lawsuit with Implant Direct (IDSI).

In the lawsuit, Zest, a California manufacturer of overdenture implant attachment systems, alleged that IDSI, a former distributor of Zest products, infringed two of its patents covering dental attachment assembly, in addition to trademark infringement, false advertising, and unfair competition.

The agreement calls for IDSI to manufacture and sell its GoDirect implant products under a license from Zest, according to the companies. IDSI will also start selling the Locator attachment system under a distribution agreement with Zest.
