The American Friends of Dental Volunteers for Israel (AFDVI) has chosen New Jersey dentist Scott Dubowsky, DMD, as its new president.
The nonprofit AFDVI promotes oral health among Jerusalem's children and at-risk youth, volunteerism, and cross-cultural understanding, according to the organization.
Dr. Dubowsky, currently an attending dentist at the Bayonne Medical Center in Bayonne, NJ, received a commendation from the New York City Medical Examiner's office for his work as a member of the dental ID team following the World Trade Center tragedy.
Also chosen as officers were Saul Pressner, DMD, as secretary and Robin Katzman, DMD, and Michelle Mirsky, DDS, to the board of directors. Michael Goldberg, MD, will serve as director-at-large.
