Birner Q3 revenues up but income down

Birner Dental Management Services reported an increase in revenue but a decrease in net income for the third quarter of 2014.

For the quarter (end-September 30), the operator of Perfect Teeth dental practices reported revenue of $16.1 million, an increase of 0.2% compared with $16&nbps;million in the same period a year ago. Net income was $-403,000, compared with $1,000 for the third quarter of 2013.

For the first nine months of 2014, revenue was $49.8 million, an increase of 1.4% compared with $49.1 million for the same period a year ago. Net income for the nine months was $-413,000, compared with $422,000 for the same period in 2013.

During 2014, the company remodeled or relocated three of its offices and converted six additional offices to digital radiography.
