Air Techniques launches new digital x-ray unit

Dental equipment manufacturer Air Techniques rolled out a new dental digital x-ray system, ProVecta S-Pan Ceph.

The system produces quick cephalometric projections with a low x-ray dose at a scanning time of 4.1 seconds. The unite also has two integrated cesium iodide sensors that eliminate switching between the panoramic x-ray unit and the cephalometric arm. Besides the 17 panoramic programs available, five programs for all cephalometric x-ray recordings also are included.

The company's S-Pan technology uses an algorithm to compile up to 20 layers from one panoramic rotation into one clear and sharp image in all areas of the dental anatomy. Unlike traditional one- or five-layer systems, the ProVecta S-Pan Ceph acquires images that are specifically created for each individual patient.
