Another Pa. dentist's license suspended for infection-control lapses

For the second time in June, Pennsylvania health officials have suspended a dentist's license for lapses in infection-control procedures.

David Clouser, DDS, of Montoursville, PA, had his license temporarily suspended on June 26 after an investigation by Pennsylvania's departments of health and state showed he "did not follow appropriate procedures to properly clean, disinfect, or sterilize dental tools used at his Montoursville office," according to a press release from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

While health officials say they have not received any reports of illness or disease transmission, his current and former patients are encouraged to get tested for hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and HIV.

Earlier this month health officials suspended the license of Northumberland County dentist Vincent J. Paczkoskie, DDS, after an investigation revealed lapses in infection-control procedures.
