New oral health app launched for family physicians

The Society of Teachers of Family Medicine has launched a new app as part of its national Smiles for Life oral health curriculum.

Aimed at family physicians, the Smiles for Life Oral Health app can help formulate diagnoses and management plans for oral health issues, according to the society. An algorithm can be selected based on a patient's statements or examination findings. A series of questions is then displayed to help formulate a diagnosis and treatment plan. The app also includes a photo gallery of tooth and oral soft-tissue findings.

The app is available on the iTunes app store and the Google Play store.
