Suni debuts $75,000 CBCT system

Suni Medical Imaging has introduced the Suni3D HD cone-beam CT (CBCT) system at a price that is the lowest on the market for 3D dental systems, according to the company

At less than $75,000, the Suni3D HD system provides entry to 3D imaging at a price never before seen in the U.S. market, the company said.

The Suni3D HD system has a .08 voxel size, providing image definition and anatomical landmarks that cannot be seen by traditional 2D imaging. Suni3D HD is a perfect fit for endodontists and practitioners performing implants, noted Paul Tucker, vice president of marketing.

"Suni has always been interested in the specialized needs of endodontists," he said in a press release. "The small field-of-view design is perfect for quadrant dentistry, while keeping radiation doses for patients at a minimum. The Suni3D HD system is one of the few systems on the market with a 5 x 5 cm focused field-of-view meaning lower doses of radiation for the patient and less liability for the doctor."

The new 3D-only system is also upgradeable to include a panoramic option should the practitioner decide to perform panoramic imaging in the future.
