A U.K. dentist is celebrating the launch of his new smile assessment iPhone app by offering patients the chance to win a teeth-whitening package worth 650 pounds ($1,010 U.S.).
The app allows patients to take pictures of their smile and send them to Dr. Jan Einfeldt, who operates the Staplehurst Dental Practice in Kent, England, according to a press release. He will then assess the image for various cosmetic treatments from dental implants to teeth straightening. The app also offers users the ability to locate the practice through a navigation system and to make or change appointments.
"The fact that everyone has their phone with them constantly means we're able to engage with them instantly -- far quicker than through the website or coming to the practice -- and it also allows users to change or book appointments without having to call us," Dr. Einfeldt said.
The free app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store via iTunes under the name Staplehurst or from his website.
