Stoma Dental launches disposable HVE, SE valves

Stoma Dental has launched its Dove brand line of disposable high-volume evacuation (HVE) and saliva ejector (SE) valves and tailcaps for use in the dental operatory.

The valves are intuitively simple to operate, according to the company. Smooth and easy switch activation by the dentist, assistant, or hygienist operates the open and closing mechanism. At the end of each procedure, the valves can be pulled off of the vacuum line and discarded. When the vacuum line cannot be turned off between patients, the line can be plugged with a single-use disposable tailcap.

"Our new Dove HVE and SE valves were designed to address the concerns of dentists and patients alike that biohazardous debris from previous patients could find its way into the mouths of later patients," stated Robert Vanderselt, managing partner of the company, in a release. "They were designed to be easy to install and operate. In addition, each piece is infused with an antimicrobial to inhibit the growth of microorganisms, especially pathogenic microorganisms."

Stoma Dental will show the new line at the 2014 Greater New York Dental Meeting, held November 30 through December 3, 2014, at the Jacob K Javits Convention Center in New York City at booth No. 3639.
