Roland unveils 2 new dental mills

Roland DGA has announced the release of two new dental mills, the DWX-4W and the DWX-51D.

The DWX-4W is a four-axis wet dental mill specifically designed for milling glass ceramics and composite resins. It is ideal for crowns, inlays, onlays, and veneers, according to the company.

The DWX-51D is a five-axis dry mill. It is equipped with a 10-station automatic tool changer, a new C-clamp with torque wrench, and an expanded virtual machine panel with built-in maintenance routine. It can produce copings, crowns, full bridges, abutments, and more from zirconia, wax, polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), composite resin, polyether ether ketone (PEEK), and gypsum.

Together, the two products are capable of producing a variety of dental prosthetics from a wide range of materials. They can also be combined to provide both dry and wet milling, Roland DGA said.

"The beauty of our two-machine system is you can perform both wet and dry milling at the same time, as well as process different material, without a changeover," said Brian Brooks, Roland DGA's senior product manager, in a press release. "In addition to saving time, effort, and money, this ensures superior results by allowing each machine to specialize in its intended function."

Both dental mills are part of the DWX series and are backed by a two-year manufacturer's warranty.
