Md. dental foundation receives treatment grant

The Maryland Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped (MFDH) has received $35,000 to support its Donated Dental Services Program.

The program improves access to dental care by providing free dental services to low-income adults who are disabled by illness or injury. The foundation recruits dentists and dental laboratories and provides case management for the patients. More than 400 eligible patients will receive more than $1 million in donated dental services.

MFDH was one of 14 organizations to receive a grant from Quality Health Foundation (QHF), the mission arm of Quality Health Strategies. QHF recently awarded the grants totaling $406,000 to organizations across Maryland and Washington, DC, to support local healthcare-related quality improvement efforts.
