Under the $4 million project, the new simulation and technology lab for preclinical education enables UMKC dental students to practice on "close to real life" models, according to the vendor. The training labs allow students to learn and practice in a realistic clinical setting, and dental procedures can be simulated under ergonomic conditions with correct instrumentation techniques. The modular units are suitable for both dental and dental hygiene curricula, and further functions and technological updates in digital dentistry can be added in the future, the company noted.
The installation was led by Dentsply Sirona's International Special Clinic Solutions division.
