Do's and don'ts for the future of the practice

A vision enables the practice to focus on objectives. It maps out a clear direction for your practice over the next three years so the doctor and team can achieve the highest levels of performance and satisfaction. The excitement of pursuing a realistic vision makes working in the practice a more rewarding experience.

Do

Memorize the practice's vision. Your practice will achieve greater success -- and do so more quickly -- if everyone on the team knows what success looks like. That's what a vision statement provides. Created and shared by the doctor, the vision shows where the practice should be in three years. By memorizing it, you'll be inspired to make it a reality.

Don

Don't forget to consistently share information. Some dentists fail to communicate regularly with their team about the practice's vision, daily targets, and yearly goals. Keeping team members in the dark is a recipe for misunderstanding, frustration, and poor morale. By consistently sharing information about the practice's direction, you give staff members a greater sense of purpose and fulfillment.
