PDS Foundation awards $70K to dental assisting students

Dental service organization Pacific Dental Services (PDS) Foundation awarded $70,000 in scholarships to 17 dental assisting students in the U.S. for the third quarter of 2023.

Since the inception of the Dr. Carolyn Ghazal Dental Assistant Scholarship in 2016, the foundation has granted more than $1.3 million in scholarships to students needing financial assistance.

The following students received scholarships:

  • Arturo Ornelas Alcaraz and Michelle Eastman, Carrington College

  • Alexis Alvarez, American Career College

  • Aaliyiah Davis, Unique Mason, and Jennifer Martinez Suarez, UEI College

  • Sophia Hilaire, Shaina Jeanty, Madison Peppers, Jaynna Williams, Isabel Pool-Wooden, Concorde Career College

  • Jessie McKinney and Raychai Xayavong, Pima Medical Institute

  • Jeraldine Vera Baltazar, Unitek College

  • Sabreen Hamoudeh, Unity Dental Assisting

  • Brejai Lightfoot, The College of Health Care Professions

  • David Mills, Fortis College

Scholarships are awarded on a quarterly basis to dental assistant students to help cover their tuition expenses. August 1 is the next deadline for the fourth quarter dental assistant scholarship. To learn more, visit the PDS Foundation site.
