Ceramic manufacturing firm XJet and dental equipment company Straumann Group have formed a global partnership.

Under the deal, the vendors said they will work to bring XJet's Carmel 1400 additive manufacturing system at Straumann's headquarters in Basel, Switzerland, from the concept stage to production. Straumann had previously utilized XJet's NanoParticle Jetting technology to develop product iterations and provide proofs of concept, but it will now pursue the use of this technology to produce ceramic end-use parts, according to the companies.
