Patients on bisphosphonates may be unaware of BON risk
June 3, 2010 -- Patients who take bisphosphonates may not be aware that bisphosphonate-associated osteonecrosis (BON) can develop after they undergo invasive dental care, according to a study in the Journal of the American Dental Association.  Discuss
EPA pressed to require amalgam separators
June 2, 2010 -- A Congressional oversight panel is pressing the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to require that all dentists in the U.S. install amalgam separators in their offices.  Discuss
Study finds gaps in oral care of visually impaired patients
May 31, 2010 -- A small U.K. survey suggests visually impaired people experience barriers to accessing dental healthcare. More than half of the respondents thought not enough dental care information is available for those with visual impairment.  Discuss
Does light activation enhance teeth whitening?
May 28, 2010 -- Research to be presented at the upcoming International Association of Dental Research meeting in Barcelona, Spain, found that 35% hydrogen peroxide alone is effective in whitening teeth and that halogen light activation does not improve the effect.  Discuss
FTC delays Red Flags Rule enforcement again
May 28, 2010 -- The U.S. Federal Trade Commission announced today that it is further delaying enforcement of the Red Flags identity theft rule through December 31, 2010. The decision is designed to give Congress more time to consider legislation that would affect the scope of entities covered by the rule, the agency said.  Discuss
