One of the more interesting presentations at the meeting was from Sirona Dental, who debuted the company's Sicat Air (available spring 2016). The product offers dental practitioners a "complete digital solution for the appliance-based treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)," according to a company release.

When dentists are talking with patients, it can sometimes be difficult to explain what OSA is and how it affects the patient physically. Images such as the one shown here can facilitate communication between clinicians, patients, and specialists. While Sicat Air is not a diagnostic tool, as the company emphasized in Chicago (patients need to be enrolled in a sleep study), the software provides a 3D analysis of the patient's upper airway.
