NYU researcher gets $950K to study oral cancer

The U.S. National Institutes of Health's National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) has awarded a New York University (NYU) College of Dentistry researcher a five-year grant of $950,000 to study oral cancer pain and growth.

The institute awarded the grant to Nicole Scheff, PhD, a postdoctoral fellow at the college.

The grant will fund research into the reciprocal impact of neuron-cancer communication on oral cancer pain and oral cancer growth, according to NYU.
