How milling, scanning can become an asset for your patients

"Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around."

I'm a quote guy. Of all the quotes I've saved, loved, and lived by, this "Vanilla Sky" quote is my favorite. Of all the years I've been in practice, and all that 2020 has brought our way, I'm thinking you may be hoping you find that minute sooner rather than later. Friends, I wish you could see me smiling right now. It's not often I can say what I'm about to say -- but I'm going to deliver that minute.

Data show upward of 85% of patients prefer single-visit dentistry. Of that number, 67% would travel for it and, in fact, would change dentists for it. Additionally, 50% would pay more for it. And, for your information, single-visit dentistry is the No. 1 requested technology we have. In other words, if you're a believer in single-visit dentistry, you are in the right insider's group!

Technology geek that I am, and for all the above reasons, I've been researching what's coming next. We have new COVID-19 problems and we need new COVID-19 solutions.

With that in mind, enter a scanning system that, with a single scan, not only delivers a 3D model and a 2D model but also helps us diagnose interproximal decay.

Take a look at the above scan. Our central image is what we are accustomed to getting. The upper right image is what we can now attain as well. It uses near-infrared imaging technology (NIRI) to highlight the distal decay within the same scan. Imagine your ability to multipurpose a single scan. Imagine your ability to diagnose and treat those watched teeth in between radiographic exams. Imagine your team integration as well.

Thank you, iTero Element 5D!

Wait, isn't iTero just an Invisalign scanner, you ask? Not anymore. With real-time, time-lapse simulation capability (and now NIRI), we have a true education and 360 integration asset.

Here's how: a brand new ability to go full chairside integration with Glidewell's glidewell.io in-office solution, complete with the fastdesign.io software and design station and fastmill.io in-office mill. Two powerhouses, Align and Glidewell, uniting to level up our game. I won't get into pricing in this article. Like I said, I'm a geek for clinical wins and dental technology that is focused on streamlining care to our patients. That said, "every passing minute is a chance to turn it all around." Whether you're an existing user of another CAD/CAM brand or new to chairside or the CAD/CAM game, I believe you're going to want to have this conversation with a representative as soon as possible.
