Do's and don'ts for team communication

September 14, 2020 -- During this time, there will be lots of changes and upheaval in your practice. It is crucial that you and your team are on the same page. The only way you can do this is to stay in constant communication about everything going on in the practice. Making sure that your team members know what's going on will help them feel valued and invested in the practice's recovery.


Take advantage of your morning meeting. There is an avalanche of information coming at dental practices about personal protective equipment (PPE), infection control, openings and closings, etc. Use your morning meeting to provide information and address any questions, even if you're unsure about the answers. If you leave team members guessing about things, it will create rumors and confusion.


Don't forget to hold a meeting at the end of each day. At the end of every day, meet with your team to review six or seven key performance indicators. In a time of recovery, it is important to know exactly what is working and what is not on a daily basis.
