A total of 27 programs received grants through the Postdoctoral Training in General, Pediatric, and Public Health Dentistry program. The recipients will use the funds to enhance postdoctoral dental residency training programs in rural communities and improve access to oral healthcare. The programs will especially benefit low-income and underserved populations.
The grants were provided through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) as part of a broader $107.2 million effort to grow and train the health workforce for rural and underserved communities. The more than 300 HRSA grant recipients will use the funds to improve the quality, distribution, and diversity of health professionals in 45 states and U.S. territories.
