UCSF merges health and dental records

December 6, 2022 -- University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Health and UCSF Dentistry are the first academic health systems in the West to merge medical and dental records into an electronic health record.

The merge happened December 5, allowing UCSF Health patients who also receive oral healthcare through UCSF Dentistry to access both sets of records and appointments in one place. This consolidation also allows providers to gain a more holistic picture of a patient's health and work together to provide comprehensive patient care, according to UCSF Health.
