2. Case report: CBCT shows man has rare kissing molars and more
   
   Cone-beam CT (CBCT) revealed that a man had the rare dental conditions of kissing molars, bilateral distomolars, and macrodontia. An intraoral exam failed to detect the conditions.
3. Old CT image shows screw in a 5-year-old's jaw, ends in surgery
   
   A mother in Colorado considered suing after she discovered a CT image that showed a large screw embedded in the jaw of her 5-year-old daughter. The screw likely was left behind following a dental surgery that was done when she was a baby.
4. What COVID-19 revealed about dental x-rays
   
   The recommendation to avoid intraoral x-rays during the COVID-19 pandemic due to potential aerosolization had an unexpected upside -- it showcased the usefulness of extraoral bitewings, according to an article in the British Dental Journal.
5. 3-cm swallowed needle removed from patient's neck
   
   Clinicians removed a 3-cm needle from a patient who swallowed it, likely during a dental procedure. This is believed to be the first reported case of an ingested dental needle causing neck pain, according to the case report.
