February 14, 2012 -- Marieve Rodriguez, DMD, of Wilmington, DE, will pay a $100,000 fine and repay $72,000 to the state for filing false Medicaid reports.

Dr. Rodriguez admitted to 10 misdemeanor counts of filing false reports; in exchange, state prosecutors dropped 19 felony counts of healthcare fraud, according to a story on Delawareonline.com.

Dr. Rodriguez, who operates Gentle Care Family Dentistry, will pay $50,000 to cover the prosecution costs.

She also agreed to have her license suspended for a year and not participate in the state's Medicaid program for at least five years.
