3DISC will highlight its HeronClinic software platform and its HeronCloud service at the upcoming Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting.

HeronClinic improves the overall performance of the firm's Heron IOS intraoral scanner, while HeronCloud is designed to facilitate exchange of cases between dentists and labs, 3DISC said. The company is also showcasing a new case management user interface.

Targeting improvements in the CAD/CAM process, 3DISC has added a new function that adds the ability to manually adjust the bite to ensure a perfect alignment for the lab. The vendor will also present a new functionality that allows the upper and lower jaws to be opened in the bite step for better visual inspection of the scans by the dentist and the dental lab.

In other software enhancements, the new Heron IOS software platform now also includes a color distance map for optimal visualization of distances between the upper and lower jaws, according to 3DISC. The firm is also including a redesigned tip with improved material to allow for higher autoclave cycles.
