OSHA cited Georgetown Dental for six serious violations and one other-than-serious violation, amounting to a $9,500 proposed penalty. The violations included not providing medical evaluations and fit testing for employees required to wear N95 respirators and lacking written respiratory protection programs.
Other citations included issues with bloodborne pathogen exposure control and training, as well as problems with chemical hazard communication. The practice also had inadequate eyewash stations.
Georgetown Dental has since paid the penalty in full and addressed the concerns, according to OSHA.
