A total of 11% of adults ages 18 to 64 years said they forwent or delayed any type of care in the past month due to concerns about exposure to SARS-CoV-2. Another 9.2% of parents said their child had missed care in the past 30 days.
Out of all types of healthcare, dental care was most frequently forgone or delayed, the survey showed. About 5% of respondents had delayed or forwent dental care in the past 30 days. Additionally, 6.3% of respondents said they had an unmet need for multiple types of healthcare.
The research analyzed Health Reform Monitoring Survey data from April 2021. It was funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
