3Shape has launched the latest version of its Dental System CAD/CAM software.
Dental System 2018 adds a number of new features, such as the ability to combine multiple types of scans, including surface, preparation, bite, and face scans. Additional features include the following:
- Ability to save and access designs at any step in the CAD/CAM workflow
- Auto snap of crowns to neighboring teeth or antagonists
- Automatic creation and positioning of connectors for bridges and bars
Dental System 2018 also includes new clear-aligner functionality that enables professionals to make aligners in house or through outside services. The clear-aligner functionality is pending 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for U.S.-based dentists.
