FDA approves HPV vaccine for more adults

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved expanding the use of Gardasil 9, a human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, for adults ages 27 through 45.

The FDA previously approved Gardasil 9 only for people ages 9 through 26. The vaccine helps to prevent certain types of cancers and disease associated with HPV, according to the agency.
