Aspen Dental Management has introduced a new implant training program, which includes cone-beam CT (CBCT) 3D imaging technology, for dentists and support staff at all Aspen Dental-branded offices in the U.S.

The training program, which will be available to all Aspen Dental offices by the end of 2020, will include web-based, didactic, and surgical-level courses, according to the dental services organization.

The customized training will be supported by technology and offered as a three-tiered program:

  • Training for doctors on consultation and case presentation, as well as complementary manager, assistant, and lab tech training on consultation, coding, and componentry for implant restorations
  • Rollout of CBCT 3D imaging technology
  • Coursework on 3D image interpretation, diagnosis, case selection, and single implant and overdenture restorations.

Aspen Dental offices will also be offered CBCT imaging technology, the company noted. So far, 140 Aspen Dental Offices have implemented CBCT, and a total of nearly 200 will adopt the technology in 2020, according to the organization.

The company said that it plans to purchase Carestream Dental's CBCT unit for Aspen Dental-branded offices.
