Carestream Dental has unveiled CS 8200 3D, the company's latest family of imaging systems.

CS 8200 3D provides 2D panoramic, cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), 3D object scanning, and optional cephalometric imaging. The line includes larger fields-of-view (FOV), with six selectable options ranging from 4 x 4 cm to 12 x 10 cm.

The line also features advanced software, including the EndoHD mode, which is available for the smallest FOV and provides high-resolution scans to visualize root canal morphology. The larger FOVs can capture full arch images for use in implant cases, periodontics, oral surgery, and orthodontics.

The CS 8200 3D with the Scan Ceph module gives practices access to cephalometric imaging. The software includes an automated tracing feature, which can produce a fully traced ceph in as few as 10 seconds, Carestream noted.

The line follows the slim profile and easy installation of the CS 8100 3D system, according to the company. The system integrates with the eighth version of Carestream's CS Imaging software.

Clinicians can learn more about the new system during a September 10 webinar titled "Extend Your View, Extend Your Treatment with the New CS 8200 3D."
