Major orgs release infection control code of conduct

The Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP); the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB); and the Dental Advancement through Learning and Education (DALE) Foundation have published a dental infection control code of conduct.

The organizations developed the code of professional conduct for its educational certificate program and two professional certifications. It represents the minimum standard of professional behavior, according to the document.

The code outlines seven standards for the three organizations:

  1. Individual autonomy of and respect for others
  2. Health and wellbeing of others
  3. Fair treatment of others
  4. Truth
  5. Confidentiality
  6. Duty and responsibility to the profession, community, and society
  7. Duty and responsibility to OSAP, DANB, and the DALE Foundation
