Dr. David Jourabchi from the Pacific Dental Services Foundation Dentists for Special Needs office has been named a DentaQuest 2021 Health Equity Hero.
The hero program celebrates individuals who preserve access to equitable oral care and healthcare for everyone. Jourabchi was recognized for his work in treating patients with an intellectual or developmental disability. Since 2019, he has treated more than 1,200 patients from across the U.S. and was one of the only dentists to deliver care for patients with disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Pacific Dental Services.
DentaQuest this year chose heroes who assisted at-risk individuals during the pandemic and who continue to expand that access.
