U.K. dentist stalls daughter's marriage over groom's bad teeth

A U.K. dentist insisted that his future son-in-law get his teeth fixed before he would be allowed to marry his daughter, according to a story in the Independent.

When 32-year-old Gordon Taylor asked Dr. Philip Lewis for his daughter's hand in marriage, the dentist was adamant that Taylor get his stained and crooked teeth treated first, the Independent reported.

Taylor has begun treatment but had to wear caps on his teeth for the wedding, according to the story.

"I never meant to neglect my teeth, I guess it was just the lifestyle I was leading," Taylor told the Independent.
