MacPractice to develop iPad dental apps

MacPractice, a developer of Apple-based practice management and clinical software for medical, dental, and chiropractic offices, plans to develop several applications for Apple's new iPad, according to a story on macdailynews.com. MacPractice Interface for iPad is a new version of MacPractice Interface for iPhone 2.0, redesigned to take advantage of the iPad's larger screen.

Users connect via Wi-Fi or 3G to access their schedule and patient records in MacPractice. Patient photos, alerts, prescription history, and appointment history are all available, and the patient's address is linked to Google Maps. Chairside Dental Chart for iPad will interface with MacPractice DDS to record pre-existing conditions, restorative and periodontal treatment, and treatment plans. MacPractice is also developing an iPad electronic medical/health record (EMR/EHR) application to integrate with MacPractice DDS.

The company will preview MacPractice Interface for iPhone at the Chicago Midwinter Dental Meeting, February 25-27.
