The Hispanic Dental Association, the National Dental Association, and the Society of American Indian Dentists have united to create the Diverse Dental Society (DDS). The new society's goal is to address unmet needs in underresourced communities and eliminate disparities, as well as increase health and oral health equity.
In addition to seeking to dismantle structural racism, the DDS has supplied insights about the effect of oral health and the importance of dental care during the pandemic. The society has also partnered with Colgate-Palmolive to create a Pandemic Oral Health Safety Video Contest, whose winners will be announced soon.
