Periodontal disease linked to increased cancer risk
August 9, 2017 -- Periodontal disease is associated with a 14% increase in cancer risk among older women, according to the results of a new study. Periodontal disease also significantly increased the risk of specific cancers, including breast and esophageal cancers.  Discuss
FDA proposes lowering tobacco nicotine levels
July 31, 2017 -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced on July 28 plans to regulate nicotine in cigarettes and other tobacco products to make cigarettes less dangerous and encourage the development of newer tobacco products that may be less dangerous than cigarettes. The goal is to lower the amount of nicotine to nonaddictive levels, reducing the risk of addiction and making it easier for current users to quit smoking.  Discuss
